It's been a month since Resident Evil 4 hit retailers in Europe. During this time, Capcom's latest entry in the popular horror franchise has sold over 200,000 copies. What's more, stores in the UK will receive new shipments of the game due to high demand throughout the launch period. The success of Resident Evil 4 shouldn't be much of a surprise, seeing as consumers have purchased 25 million Resident Evil titles since Capcom first launched the series in 1996. In fact, the UK launch of Resident Evil 4 marks the most successful since Nintendo released Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Sales for the Nintendo GameCube also jumped dramatically, doubling the company's market share.
A limited edition Resident Evil 4 bundle was also made available at the time of the game's launch, and included a Platinum and Black RE4-themed Nintendo GameCube, a copy of the game and a "making of" bonus DVD crammed with behind-the-scenes footage. Plus, the bonus disk featured game trailers of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis; Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil 4 and a playable demo of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
