Famitsu magazine has unveiled BioHazard 4 (the Japanese version of Resident Evil 4), showing a completely reworked game. Gone are the days of traveling through pre-rendered screens and shooting at hordes of fumbling zombies. Replacing this aging system is a full 3D game emphasizing high-paced action rather than strategic horror.
Players will once again play as Leon S. Kennedy, who (making a return from Resident Evil 2) is a special agent sent to Europe to investigate the kidnapping of the president's daughter. Searching for leads, Leon comes across a mountain village filled with crazed inhabitants bent on killing him. The villagers however, are anything but mindless zombies, charging with chainsaws, throwing sickles from a distance, and climbing up ladders to pursue you.
