Revolution broadens appeal

Nintendo has announced that the Revolution will be available in a number of new colours, in addition to the black, white, silver, red and green previously depicted in promotional material.

In a similar move to the multi-coloured DS Lites currently hitting the shelves in Japan, the Revolution will also be styled in light blue, purple and baby pink. Analysts have commented the decision has been taken to entice female gamers, mirroring the faceplates currently available for the Xbox 360.

It appears personalisation is considered key for the future of the gaming industry, with the PlayStation 3 also being produced in three colours – silver, white and black.

Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned in a Swedish newspaper that the Revolution is going to be released this year at the same time as Zelda: Twilight princess.
