Earlier this month, we reported that a new development studio called Camouflaj had launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund République. The game, described as a "stealth survival" title, was created by Ryan Payton who previously worked as a producer at Konami on Metal Gear Solid 4. He later joined Microsoft and its 343 Industries team to work on Halo 4 but decided to leave Microsoft to form Camouflaj before Halo 4 was released.
When the Kickstarter campaign was launched for République, it was intended to be a game just for Apple's iOS device line up. Now the company has decided to expand the game's platforms. It announced this week that République would now also be released for the PC and Mac.
According to the Kickstarter page:
This won’t be some basic, simple port. No copy-paste. The team has spent the past week drafting up a smart plan to deliver a special version of République featuring new gameplay, controls and story elements tailored to the strengths of the PC and Mac platforms.
The Kickstarter campaign still hasn't been fully funded yet. With 14 days go as of this writing, the game has generated just over $107,000 but that's still well short of the team's $500,000 goal.
