There's been speculation going on for the past several weeks that Apple is getting close to launching a new versions of its MacBook Air. While Apple is naturally still staying silent, the rumor mill continues to generate news on the next MacBook Air product. Today 9to5Mac reports via unnamed sources that we can expect Apple to launch upgraded versions of the notebook sometime in mid-July.
The outward appearance of the MacBook Air won't change all that much, according to the article. It states that one of its sources has seen the new models and "exterior changes (if any) were so minute that they were not noticed." Inside the notebook, however, is a different story. The new MacBook Airs are expected to have Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors running things. The story also claims that it will come with the "Lion" update for the Mac OS X operating system pre-installed. The new versions are also expected to include the Thunderbolt port which Apple started adding to its Macbook Pro notebook earlier this year.
Apple has got a lot of products that are almost certainly going to be announced and/or released in the next few months. The article states that new Mac minis and a new versions of the MacBook Pro are expected to be released sometime soon after the new MacBook Air models come out. And of course, everyone and their mother is waiting patiently for Apple to finally launch the fifth version of the iPhone along with new versions of its iPod products.
