Just hours after reporting that Apple is due to host its Unleashed event next week, Samsung has decided to pipe up too to let us know that it will also be holding an event next week but on Wednesday, October 20 instead. Similarly to Apple’s event, Samsung will be hosting its event on its own website as well as YouTube for people to tune in. The keynote is set to begin on that day at 10 a.m. ET.
Samsung is not giving away any details about this upcoming event, only saying in its announcement that:
“Our users are multifaceted and live life in so many colorful, interesting and unique ways. As such, the technology they use every day should reflect their individuality.”
With words like these, Samsung could be preparing some more customisation features for its phone and watch software but it’s really not clear. The accompanying video which we’ve embedded above is equally as vague as it just shows generic Samsung icons being put into multicoloured cubes and scrolling off the screen.
Samsung, like Apple, seems to be getting into doing lots of events throughout the year to cover their increasing line-up of products. Back in August, Samsung held its last event where it revealed the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, two trailblazing foldables that are still expensive with prices starting at $999.99 but edging closer to mass-market appeal.
