Samsung announces the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+

After continuous leaks from various sources, Samsung has finally made the Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ official at its 'Unpacked' event in New York. The two new handsets were unveiled a few moments ago, sharing nearly identical specifications.

As can be seen below, the devices share the same specifications with the exception of the shape and design. Naturally, Samsung is using the latest Exynos CPU and has packed in a whopping 4GB of RAM. Similar to the previously released Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the device will also have a 16MP camera and support fast charging. One specification that might stand out for previous Note owners is the reduced battery capacity in the Note 5. Although 3,000mAh is quite a bit, the Note 4 utilized a 3200mAh battery.

Samsung did not list any pricing details, but it is without a doubt that these handsets will see a release globally and will be available for purchase from most carriers. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available from purchase alongside the Note 5 starting August 21, preorders for the devices have already begun. We will update this post as further information is released.
