Announced at Samsung's Unpacked event last month, the Galaxy Fold is set to be available in the U.S. beginning on April 26. During the same day, Samsung will also kick-off pre-orders for the foldable phone in the U.K.
Samsung U.K. announced that it has partnered with British mobile network operator EE to exclusively bring the Galaxy Fold to customers on May 3. The device will be available in Space Silver or Cosmos Black via the Samsung Online Shop, Samsung Experience Stores, and EE's online storefront. Meanwhile, the Martian Green and Astro Blue variants can be had from the Samsung Online Shop only, with an option for either a Dark Silver or Gold hinge.
Concurrent with its U.K. availability, the Fold is also expected to arrive in other European countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Plus, it will come bundled with a pair of wireless Galaxy Buds, a Kevlar case, and a one-year warranty through Samsung Care+.
To recap, the Galaxy Fold sports a 7.3-inch display in its expanded form and a 4.6-inch HD+ display on the outside when folded. It packs two batteries that add up to 4,380mAh of capacity, and features 512GB of internal storage, and 12GB of RAM. The handset will cost £1,800 from Samsung while the EE price has yet to be disclosed. In mainland Europe, the device will be priced at €2,000.
Update: Samsung's retail partners in Europe include Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, O2, Proximus (Germany) and Swisscom, Sunrise, and Mobilezone (Switzerland), the company announced today.
