Right after rolling out a software update for its Galaxy S10 series, Samsung is now updating the Galaxy Note10 series. Both devices in the series are being updated with the August 2020 security patch.
Samsung is once again being quick to roll out monthly security patches for its flagship smartphones and has beaten Google in the process. There’s however a catch. According to SamMobile, only the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ devices in Germany are receiving the update. There's no word yet on a wider rollout. Surprisingly, there’s also no word on when Samsung plans to update its current-gen flagship Galaxy S20 series with the August security patch.
As per the report, the update carries the build number N97xFXXS6CTGA. It only focuses on bringing the latest security patch, and there are no other significant changes. You can try manually installing the update by heading over to Settings -> Software update -> Download and Install. Alternatively, you can wait for the device to prompt you when the OTA update is ready.
Samsung is also gearing up to host its Galaxy Unpacked event next week on August 5. The online-only event is expected to see the unveiling of a whole host of devices. This includes the Galaxy Note20 series, which is likely to include a ‘Standard’ variant, and an ‘Ultra’ variant. Additionally, we could also see the unveiling of the Galaxy Fold2 and the Galaxy Watch 3.
