Could the Samsung Galaxy S III be heading for North America in just a few weeks? A new rumor story from MobileSyrup.com suggests that the answer is in fact, "Yes," if the Canadian release is a signal for what is to come. The story claimed to have posted up a screenshot (since removed) that showed a June 20th launch date in Canada for the Android 4.0 smartphone up north.
The story adds that the device will be available from a number of Canadian wireless carriers, including TELUS, Bell, WIND, Videotron, SaskTel and Mobilicity. It adds that pre-orders for the Galaxy S III could start as soon as May 30th, which is less than a week away.
This could also signal that the Galaxy S III could be coming to the US around the same time, although so far no wireless carrier in the US nor Samsung have given a specific launch date other than sometime this summer. The Galaxy S II launched in other parts of the world several months before it came to the US in September 2011.
Meanwhile, the smartphone is preparing for its European debut. As we have reported before, the Galaxy S III will begin selling in the UK and other Europeans territories next week, as soon as May 29th in some cases. In fact a few people have already gotten lucky enough to buy one, or even two.
