In May, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S III, the latest smartphone to get the company's Galaxy name. The Android phone was a major sales hit in both Europe and the US. Now Samsung is getting ready to reveal its next Galaxy product.
Engadget reports that members of the media have been sent a "save the date" invite by Samsung for the launch of the still mysterious product on August 15th. No other information was revealed by Samsung.
Speculation has already turned to a number of possible launches, including the Galaxy S Blaze Q, which is rumored to be an Android 4.0 smartphone with a sliding QWERTY physical keyboard. Others believe it might be the previously promised Galaxy Note 10.1, a much larger tablet version of the already large Galaxy Note smartphone.
It's also possible that the Galaxy Note 2 could be the product that gets officially announced on that date, but others believe Samsung won't offer details on that device until the IFA 2012 trade show later in August. In any case, the Galaxy name has been pretty good for Samsung for smartphones, if not for tablets, and you can bet that a lot of folks will be interested to see what the company has up its sleeve.
