Samsung's Galaxy Book with Windows 10 priced from $630 for 10.6-inch, $1,130 for 12-inch

At Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February, Samsung unveiled a new pair of Windows 10 devices. Despite the 'Galaxy Book' name, neither of the new PCs are notebooks; rather, they're tablets with detachable keyboard covers.

Today, Samsung announced launch details for the new devices, including their full specs and pricing in the United States. One bit of information caught our eye in the spec sheet for the two tablets; at MWC, Samsung reps explicitly stated that both the 10.6-inch and 12-inch models would be made available with the option of integrated 4G LTE connectivity. This wasn't a misunderstanding on our part - CNET, The Verge, and others were also given the same information.

However, Samsung's news release today makes it clear that - in the US at least - the 10.6-inch Galaxy Book will not be available with LTE support.

The 10.6-inch Galaxy Book will be priced from $629.99, while the 12-inch Wi-Fi model will cost from $1,129.99. The Galaxy Book 12" LTE model will officially go on sale at Verizon on Friday for $1,299.99.

For the non-LTE models, pre-orders will open on Friday at Samsung.com and "select retailers including Best Buy", with general availability from May 21. Best Buy will be the only retailer to offer the Galaxy Books in black, while others will only be selling the Galaxy Book in silver.

All Galaxy Books will come with Samsung's S Pen stylus, and the "island-style keyboard cover", which doubles up as a stand for the device, offering "PC, Easel and Note" configurations.

You can get a quick overview of the Galaxy Book 10.6" and 12" in our hands-on video from MWC.
