On October 17, the majority of the Windows Mixed Reality head-mounted displays (HMDs) that have been announced went on sale, including ones from Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. One that was notably missing was the Samsung Odyssey.
Announced at the beginning of last month, the Odyssey is the only HMD that doesn't have the same specs as the rest of the pack. Rather than a pair of 1440x1440 displays, Samsung is using two 1440x1600 Super AMOLED screens, which will almost certainly provide a better experience.
Along with a wider 110-degree field of view, the headset also comes with a pair of built-in AKG headphones. And as with all of the other Windows Mixed Reality packages, it comes with a pair of Motion Controllers.
The Odyssey is available beginning today, although pre-orders have been available for some time. It's the most expensive Windows Mixed Reality headset at $499, but unfortunately, it's already sold out online. It does, however, appear to be in stock and available for in-store pickup at many physical Microsoft Store locations. You can check it out on the Microsoft Store here.
