The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S allow you to "Quick Resume" games. You can basically launch a single-player title like Dying Light 2 in seconds if it's in that section of the console's menu. However, there's no way to choose which games stay there and the list appears to be somewhat random at times. Luckily, that's about to change.
Today on Twitter, the Engineering Lead at Xbox, Eden Marie, said that you'll be able to pin two games in Quick Resume. If you try to add a third game, you'll have to unpin one of the previously-selected two. The Quick Resume state only works as long as you don't remove the game or it gets an update.
Some screens of the "keep in Quick Resume" feature going out to Alpha Xbox Insiders at 2PM PT today! Up to two games can be "pinned" so they won't be lost unless the game updates or you remove it. If you try to add a third game, you'll be prompted to choose which game to remove. pic.twitter.com/4nCvmu9FoK

If you're part of the Xbox Insider program, you can try out the feature today. It rolled out to Alpha Insiders earlier this afternoon. If you don't see the option to pin games on Quick Resume already, you'll have to go to Settings and initiate the update.
Right now, it's difficult to get an Xbox Series X, but many stores have ample Xbox Series S in stock. You can probably pick one up at Best Buy or Target at the moment if you're in the United States, without paying scalpers double the price.
