Shadow Warrior first launched in 1997 and was immediately considered a cult classic by many gamers. Unfortunately, the series went dormant — only receiving two expansions, one in 1998 and another in 2005 — until developer Flying Wild Hog revived it in 2013. This year, Shadow Warrior 3 launches on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on March 1, 2022.

Shadow Warrior 3 was hit was a delay like many other games during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, it's up for pre-order across all platforms now. You can pick it up for $49.99 on the Microsoft Store. The pre-order includes Shadow Warrior and Shadow Warrior 2. There doesn't appear to be a way to just buy Shadow Warrior 3 at the moment. For those wondering, the title is also Xbox Series X|S optimized.

According to Flying Wild Hog, Shadow Warrior 3 follows "fallen corporate shogun Lo Wang and his ... sidekick Orochi Zilla ... on an improbable mission to recapture an ancient dragon they unwillingly unleashed from its eternal prison." You'll explore uncharted parts of the planet in order to track down the monster and prevent the apocalypse.

Shadow Warrior 3 also makes changes to the cast. According to a report by PC Gamer, Mika Moh will voice Lo Wang, Andromeda Dunker will play Motoko, and SungWon Cho will be Zilla. This is a step in the right direction for Asian representation in the gaming industry.
