Grand finale for safe online shopping campaign
The Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG) will today launch what it calls a 'shopping extravaganza' to round off its month-long safe internet shopping campaign.
For 24x7 Day, a number of competitions and special offers worth more than £12m will be available from various online retailers, including Boots and Dabs, as the industry attempts to persuade more consumers that online shopping is both convenient and safe.
The 24x7x2003 campaign, launched on 1 July, has been backed by both industry and government. It offers shopping tips, guidelines and practical help such as explaining to consumers their legal rights when buying online.
Today's finale to the campaign coincides with the latest figures published by analyst Forrester, which predict that UK online sales are set to grow 46 per cent this year from £7.1bn in 2002 to £10.4bn in 2003.
