The list of popular brands launching apps for Windows 10 devices has continued to grow in recent weeks, with additions from the likes of The Wall Street Journal, Netflix, iHeartRadio and the Daily Mail. British broadcasting giant Sky is one of the latest to bring a new app to the Windows Store, with the release of Sky Sports Football Score Centre.
The app is currently available for Windows 10 Mobile - but apps built on Microsoft's Universal Windows Platform can be tweaked to run on a wide range of devices with very little effort, so we may well see the new app make its way to PCs in the future too.
The app provides a centralized source for those wishing to stay informed on the latest scores and upcoming matches in UK and European league and cup competitions. It also includes the latest football news, along with tables and standings, and as the app description points out, "you can even find your nearest Sky Pub venue by using our pub finder to get closer to the action."
The app listing highlights its key features:
- Add Live Tiles to your home screen to ensure you never miss any of the action.
- Notifications for up to four teams alerting you to any important moments
- Live scores, commentary, team line-ups and enhanced match stats keep you up-to-date on all the action
- Match Reports and Previews
- Live updated league tables showing you what impact the current games could have on the title race or the battle for the drop
- News headlines on the day’s top stories and the latest video from Sky Sports
- Find out where to catch the latest action live with the Sky Pub Finder
- Set your favourite team and follow up to three others from around the leagues in ‘My Scores’
- Follow the goals as they go in with our new and improved VidiPrinter
- Player Profiles. Select a player in Team Line-Ups to view their season stats
You can download Sky Sports Football Score Centre free from the Windows Store.
