Beachside Tech has an interesting article up showing off Panasonic's new toy. The SL-GC10 is Gamecube combines with a DVD/DVD-R. This thing looks sweet!
"The Panasonic SL-GC10 is a sort of Frankenstein. It is the combination of the Gamecube's hardware with features of a DVD player. But this thing is much more than a simple DVD player that can draw polygons of Mario. It also functions as a DVD-R, CD-R/RW, and Video CD player. For a game system, this is quite impressive. Actually, it is marketed as a set-top box. Don't think that the DVD is hogging up all the space, as there still are 4 controller ports, and two memory card slots. The other sweet addition to the system is the LCD display on top of it. This is for displaying information used by the DVD player, like setup presentment. The SL-GC10 also comes with a nifty remote, so you wouldn't need to move to hit play. (Although I don't think you can use it as a controller.)"
