It's been yet another fortnight; the Epic Games Store has today put Slime Rancher on offer, taking the place of Thimbleweed Park.
Slime Rancher is a "relaxing life simulation" title that borrows a few elements from the farming simulator subgenre. It's developed by Monomi Park and saw an early access release in January of 2016, followed by an official release in August of 2017.
Here's how the Epic Games Store describes the title:
Slime Rancher is a charming, first-person, sandbox experience. Play as Beatrix LeBeau: a plucky, young rancher who sets out for a life a thousand light years away from Earth on the ‘Far, Far Range.
Each day will present new challenges and risky opportunities as you attempt to amass a great fortune in the business of slime ranching. Collect colorful slimes, grow crops, harvest resources, and explore the untamed wilds through the mastery of your all-purpose vacpack.
Windows and macOS versions are on offer at the Epic Games Store at no cost for the next two weeks, however, it's worth noting that the game is also available for Linux via Steam for $19.99. Also available on Steam is the original soundtrack (for a cost), a free VR experience, and the free "Galactic Bundle" that adds a few in-game items.
Here are the minimum requirements for the game:
OS: Windows 7+ / OSX 10.11+
Processor: 2.2GHz Dual Core
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: 512MB VRAM DirectX 11 / OpenGL 3.2 compatible, 512 MB VRAM
Storage: 1 GB available space
If you wish to claim Slime Rancher, here’s its store page. It will be free to claim until March 21, which is when Epic will put on offer Oxenfree for its next giveaway.
