Slow ring Office Insiders on Windows get a couple of new features

Microsoft has released a new build of the Office apps for Insiders in the Monthly Channel (Targeted) ring. It carries build number 12026.20108, and it includes a couple of new features for both Word and PowerPoint.

For Word, there's a new Rewrite feature, which was officially announced a few weeks ago. It lets you choose a phrase or expression, and Word will try to find alternative ways to say the same thing. This may be useful if you have trouble with repetition in longer texts.

PowerPoint, for its part, now lets you save illustrations and slides as SVG files. SVG, short for Scalable Vector Graphic, is an image file format that renders images based on vectors, so they can be rendered at any desired resolution without losing quality. This feature was made available to the Fast ring at the end of August, but it comes with an obvious caveat - you can't turn raster images into vectors, so those will still be rendered at their preset resolution.

Aside from those two apps, there don't seem to be any major changes in this update. It should roll out to everyone in the Monthly Channel (Targeted) ring over the next few days.
