Apple has introduced its latest service, Apple Business Essentials, that assembles iCloud storage, 24/7 Apple Support, and device management into "flexible subscription plans for small businesses with up to 500 employees", along with bringing an Apple Business Essentials app that allows users to install apps for work and request support.
The latest resource offers support through total device management life cycle, including device setup, employee onboarding, and device upgrades, along with providing secure data storage and backup, prioritized support, and strong security.
Vice President of Enterprise and Education Marketing, Susan Prescott stated:
Small businesses are at the core of our economy, and we’re proud that Apple products play a role in helping these companies grow. Apple Business Essentials is designed to help streamline every step of employee device management within a small business — from setup, onboarding, and upgrading, to accessing fast service and prioritized support, all while keeping data backed up and secure, so companies can focus on running their business.
With Apple Business Essentials, small businesses will now be able to configure, deploy, and manage Apple products from anywhere in the world. The latest service comes with Collections feature that allows IT personnel to configure apps or settings for devices, groups, or individual users. The service also enables IT managers to implement critical security settings like Activation Lock to protect stolen or lost devices, and FileVault for full-disk encryption on Mac.
User Enrollment feature develops cryptographic separation for work data to make certain that company data remains secure and employee data remains private when employees utilize a personal device at work. Apple Business Essentials also features a dedicated iCloud account for work that enables collaboration on files and documents, backup, and secure storage.
With it, businesses can also add AppleCare+ for Business Essentials to their plans to get 24/7 access to phone support, training for IT administrators and employees, and up to two device repairs per plan each year. Apple will also provide businesses with three plans that can be customized to support each user with up to 2TB of secure storage in iCloud and up to three devices.
Apple Business Essentials is now available in the US as a free beta and will be fully available in 2022. The Apple Business Essentials plans start at $2.99 per month, with optional AppleCare+. To learn more about the beta version or to sign up for it, head over to the dedicated webpage here.
