SOMA and Costume Quest are free to claim on the Epic Games Store this week

Continuing its Halloween-inspired giveaways, the Epic Games Store has put on offer SOMA and Costume Quest to claim for free this week, replacing Layers of Fear and Q.U.B.E. 2.

SOMA is a sci-fi survival horror game developed by Frictional Games – the same team that developed Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Originally released in 2015, the story-heavy title takes players on a journey full of mystery, with the gameplay focused on stealth and puzzle solving. The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered intolerable isolation and you’re going to have to make some tough decisions. What makes sense? What is left to fight for?

Costume Quest is a Halloween-themed adventure RPG by Double Fine Productions. A game full of humor, it takes players on a trick-or-treat adventure around three environments, all the while completing quests and building their party. Here’s how the Epic Games Store describes the title:

Epic Games Store is offering SOMA for Windows and macOS, and Costume Quest for Windows, at no cost to players. It’s worth noting, however, that the former is available for macOS and both titles are also available for Linux via Steam, where they are priced $4.49 and $2.49 respectively, on account of the ongoing Halloween sale.
