Samsung's Galaxy S10 series recently received a nifty update which brought improvements to its camera including a dedicated night mode capability. However, that enhancement alongside the May 2019 security patch may have also injected a bug into the handsets as some users are reporting device freezes after installing the updates.
Multiple users took to Reddit to complain that their Galaxy S10 phones are randomly coming to a halt in what appears to be a bug affecting the devices' scheduler or RAM management. This was reportedly the case after the affected handsets were treated to the latest updates from Samsung.
Besides the phones themselves, the freezing issue also seems to be affecting third-party apps such as Twitter and Nova Launcher, among others. At present, there seems to be no immediate fix for the problem and not even the power button can solve the issue if you try to press it long for a restart.
Some users say this can be temporarily fixed by doing a force-reboot which involves long-pressing the power button and volume down key at the same time. Of course, that's not a practical solution and Samsung has yet to address users' concerns.
