Microsoft held a big press conference at the German-based Gamescom conference earlier this month, where the company released a slew of new information, like Windows 10 on Xbox One, Halo Wars 2, Xbox One DVR functionality, and more during its media briefing. Sony was notably absent from any major press briefings, and it's because Playstation will have a presence at Paris Games Week later this year.
The news broke through French news group Jeuxvideo, where a Playstation Media Preview event was announced. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 6:00pm (Paris time) and will be held at the Espace Grande Arche - a large convention center where Paris Games Week will be being held at.
Sony opted to hold out of Gamescom 2015 in early August, partially due to the fact that the event came only a couple months after E3. Sony isn't expected to make any big game announcements for 2015, but may offer updates on the eventual release of big games like Uncharted 4 and No Man's Sky, both of which are now leaning toward a 2016 launch.
