Sony selects RAM provider for the PlayStation 3

Elpida Memory will be supplying DRAM for Sony's next console.

According to a Bloomberg report, Japanese manufacturer Elpida Memory has revealed that it will be supplying DRAM memory for Sony's next video game console, the PlayStation 3. Elpida also revealed that the DRAM it will be supplying uses Rambus technology. Elpida Memory is a joint subsidiary of NEC and Hitachi, and it specializes in the production of DRAM.
