Although Sony recently announced plans to offer their latest handsets in the United States, it looks like the release will arrive with a bit of a bombshell, as Sony has detailed that the US variants will not offer the highly acclaimed fingerprint sensor.
Although we have reached out to Sony for clarification, The Verge has reported that the US variants will not arrive with the highly acclaimed fingerprint sensor.
While the technology has found its way into most high-end handsets, Sony's placement of the sensor is what set its apart from the rest. Sony has conveniently placed the sensor inside the power button which resides on the side of the device, making it easily accessible, as the finger naturally curls around that area of the phone.
While Sony hasn't exactly dominated the Android handset market, they have continued to create devices that offer the latest and greatest in terms of specifications. This year was no exception as Sony introduced the Xperia Z5 Premium, which became the world's first 4K smartphone.
