Neowin has obtained detailed XP SP1 related files, which will be of much interest to SP1 neowin fans! The first is a detailed readme on windows xp sp1, which details special installation instructions, amongst other things. Secondly, we have obtained Post–Beta Release Notes which contain detailed information on the SP1 install - e.g. they tell us that Space required if installing SP1 from a shared distribution folder on a network will be 313 MB (610 MB peak during installation). Finally, we have obtained notes on Windows XP MUI.
"Windows XP Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Pack works on top of English Windows XP Professional edition. MUI pack adds language resources to the base operating system and does not modify any core system binaries. As a result, one of the major benefits of deploying Windows XP MUI is the world-wide single rollout that eases the administration of the operating system, including the application of English hotfixes and Service Packs (SPs) which are released first. Microsoft will strive to maintain MUI functionality in spite of the fixes in Windows XP Service Packs, and to avoid separate hotfixes and SPs that are specific for MUI environments."
Basicly, its an advanced language pack for XP -you wont have to wait for updates specific to you, but youll be able to get the english one and using the MUI run it on your PC.
