Square Enix is once again coming back to E3 with a games showcase this year, the company announced today. The live briefing's date and time are set for Monday, June 10 at 6pm PT.
This seems to be the Monday slot that Sony would have occupied if the company hadn't bowed out from this year's E3 event. We will have to wait and see how Square Enix plans to fill this void using its own share of announcements, with it saying there's "an exciting line up [sic] of titles" to showcase. During last year's event, the company mostly had new trailers to show off for its upcoming titles, but we could see a focus on new announcements this time.
Also, this could be the E3 we see news regarding the Square Enix-published games based around Marvel superheroes that are in development. It has been some time since we've heard of The Avengers Project that the publisher has Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal working on.
This should be the final major publisher to announce its E3 2019 plans going forward. Ubisoft's briefing is set on June 10, and the presentations of Microsoft and Bethesda will kick off on June 9. EA will have a presence during E3 week via its EA Play event, but won't be having a conference this year.
