Kingdom Hearts III was confirmed to be in development back in 2013, but the game is yet to see a release. The title is the 12th installment in Square Enix' long-running Kingdom Hearts franchise, and is a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II that was released in Japan in 2005. Kingdom Hearts III is set after the events of 2012's Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. While the company still hasn't confirmed a release date for the highly-anticipated title as of yet, it has shown off the gameplay and characters in a new trailer.

The new trailer shows off quite a lot of gameplay including combat mechanics. It also gives us a look at several characters from Disney's franchises including Donald Duck, Goofy, Maleficent, Hades, and Pete.
Players will once again be able to take charge of the protagonist, Sora, in their quest to search for the seven guardians of light and the "Key to Return Hearts", in a heroic endeavor to botch Master Xehanort's evil intentions to instigate the second Keyblade War.
Kingdom Hearts III will be the final chapter of the "Dark Seeker" saga, and will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. Square Enix has announced that it plans to show off another trailer at the D23 expo on July 15, 2017.
