It's almost time to find out what the partnership between Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix has produced, over two years after the original announcement of a "multi-year, multi-game" deal between the two companies. Square Enix announced today that Marvel’s Avengers will be unveiled during its E3 presentation next month.
Although more details about the game have been almost non-existent since its reveal, we do know that both Eidos Montréal, responsible for the rebooted Deus Ex series, and Crystal Dynamics, known for Tomb Raider, are the studios working on the title.
The original announcement teaser trailer - when it was simply named The Avengers Project - painted a picture of a world where the Avengers had fallen, with the narrator calling them to reassemble. We will have to wait until E3 to confirm if the full game will follow that setting, however, today's announcement does sport a "#Reassemble" tag.
As previously announced, the publisher's E3 showcase kicks off on Monday, June 10 at 6pm PT, promising "an exciting lineup of titles." We now know at least one of these exciting games.
