The sequel to 2015's Star Wars Battlefront was fully unveiled at E3 last month, showcasing the upcoming shooter's usual multiplayer antics and the newly introduced single-player campaign set around the destruction of the Death Star.
For those eager to get their hands on the title before its release on November 17, an announcement by EA today unveiled the details surrounding Star Wars Battlefront II's upcoming beta. This would be a perfect opportunity for potential buyers to get a feel for the game and see if the newly implemented changes are enough to set it apart from the previous game.
The beta will throw players into Theed, the capital city of Naboo for a "wild melee on the streets surrounding the royal palace, where you'll take control of some of your favorite heroes," in the 'Galactic Assault' game mode.
Also included in the beta is the 'Starfighter Assault' game mode, marking the return of space battles. Sadly, not much information about the mode is available other than that players will get to pilot various "memorable starfighters from Star Wars" - more information about this mode is planned to be revealed at Gamescom this August.
Both 'Galactic Assault' on Theed and 'Starfighter Assault' game modes were featured in the game's official gameplay trailer from E3, which can be seen above.
The Star Wars Battlefront II beta will begin on October 4 for anyone who preorders the game, with an open beta following on October 6. The beta's end date is set to be on October 9.
