Starhawk is due for release on May 8th but the sci-fi action game exclusively for the Playstation 3 is going to have some rather nice pre-order incentives if you purchase the game at GameStop ahead of time. Today, the official Playstation blog has revealed exactly what those pre-order extras are, which it claims adds $20 of free content to the $59.99 game developed by Lightbox Interactive.
Pre-orders can get an all new co-op map called the Maw of Despair, which is a ground-based level. Co-op mode was not featured in the recent beta test of Starhawk but this new map lets players battle in that mode in the full game. There's also an extra Homeworld, the Echo Scrapyard. which serves as a kind of virtual player lobby to join with other friends before they play in matches.
There's also two custom mutiplayer characters in the pre-order pack, the Shade Warrior and Huxley Ardin. Additional content includes Starhawk's soundtrack, a free copy of the Playstation 1 Warhawk game, a code for $10 off a Playstation Bluetooth headset and one month of free access to the Playstation Plus service. Again, these pre-orders are only available if you buy the game ahead of its May 8th release date at GameStop.
