Last week, Undead Labs finally revealed State of Decay 2's new release date, and also showed off two editions of the game that players can pick up - Standard and Ultimate. This week, Microsoft has announced that there is another edition of the game that fans can opt for, that being the State of Decay 2 Collector’s Edition.
As seen in the image above, this physical special edition comes with several goodies fitting the game's theme, which includes an exclusive SteelBook case, a "human brain" stand for it, a 4GB severed "thumb-drive," a zombie mask, and a State of Decay iron-on patch.
Curiously, the announcement doesn't detail what version of the game does this edition ships with, in fact, it doesn't mention including the game at all. We assume this is an oversight and doesn't mean that the Collector's Edition won't actually ship with the game.
The Collector's Edition is available now for pre-order through retailers for $69.99. Meanwhile, the Standard and Ultimate editions are available to pre-order for $29.99 and $49.99 respectively, through the Microsoft Store. The game will also be part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription program at launch.
State of Decay 2 is slated to launch on May 22 for Xbox One and Windows 10, with Ultimate Edition owners gaining access to the game four days earlier, on May 18.
UPDATE: Microsoft has updated the announcement page clarifying that the Collector's Edition does not come with a copy of the game.
