Following the delay that pushed it back by a week, the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition has officially kicked off. Returning for the third time, the event attempts to deliver Steam users a gaming trade show-like experience straight to their homes, with demos of upcoming titles available to try out for a limited time.
Head to the event's newly setup landing page to find all of the games showcasing demos and other events. Some highlights include demos for Windjammers 2, Destroy All Humans! remake, Iron Harvest, and Builders of Egypt. The scores of demos are split between various genre categories for easy sorting. However, some games are still in the process of enabling their demos it seems, so check back later if the Install Demo button is greyed out on the events page.
In addition to demos, Valve is also giving a spotlight to the developers behind these upcoming titles, with livestreams and chat sessions planned for the next week. A schedule for all these events can be found on its new Steam News Hub page - one of Valve's Steam Labs experiments.
Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition will keep its doors open until June 22 at 10AM PT, and if leaks are correct, this year's Steam Summer Sale will kick off right after.
