Nintendo has reported that British gamers have picked up over a million DS consoles since it was launched here in March last year. Nintendo said that sales of the consoles were helped by popular games such as Mario Kart DS and Nintendogs which both sold well over the Christmas period.
Nintendo's main competitors in the handheld market, Sony had sold 610,000 units of its PSP before Christmas, which was released in the UK in September.
