At the end of March, rumors started swirling around suggesting that Nintendo is planning a big celebration for the 35th anniversary of the Mario franchise. Reports pointed towards re-releases of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and even Super Mario 3D World, as well as a brand-new Paper Mario game. While Nintendo has yet to confirm any of this, a new listing at Best Buy seems to lend some credibility to those reports.
Spotted by Twitter user Wario64, there appears to be a listing for a Nintendo Switch version of Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Switch on Best Buy's database, though it's not publicly visible on the website right now. The item even has a SKU number, and adding it to the pre-existing rumors makes it seem all the more likely that the game is in fact being re-released on the hybrid console.
The listing suggests that the title will cost $59.99, which is the standard pricing for Switch games. Being that this is most likely a port of a pre-existing Wii U game, the pricing may seem unfair, but it's in line with Nintendo's practices. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker are all Wii U games that cost exactly the same on the Nintendo Switch as they did originally on the Wii U.
Of course, listings like this can also be wrong, and there's still a chance that a re-release of Super Mario 3D World isn't in the cards, but it does line up pretty perfectly with the previous rumors. If it turns out to be real, it then remains to be seen if the same will be true for the rest of the rumored re-releases.
