Back in October, Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 4, the latest in its line of high-end Windows tablets. In the months since then, the company has been offering chunky discounts on the older Surface Pro 3, in an effort to clear out its remaining inventory of the last-generation device.
In the UK, those efforts have finally succeeded. After discounting the device by as much as £350 GBP (around $500 USD) in recent weeks, the Microsoft Store there has finally sold out of every model of the Surface Pro 3.
The device remains available via some other UK retailers, but it's only a matter of time before these stocks are depleted too, clearing the way for the newer Surface Pro 4, as well as the Surface Book, which is now available to pre-order in the UK, after launching in the United States and Canada last year.
Surface Pro 3 stocks are also dwindling at the Microsoft Store in the US. All models with the exception of the range-topping Pro 3 - featuring an Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD - are now out of stock. This sole remaining model is currently priced at $1,849, a $100 savings on its original list price of $1,949.
