Surface Pro gets a firmware update to improve LTE stability on all models, for some reason

Alongside of a massive list of firmware and driver updates for the Surface Studio, Microsoft is also releasing an update for its newest Surface Pro today. The firmware update is available for all Surface Pro devices that are running the Windows 10 Creators Update or newer, which frankly, should be all of them, being that the device shipped two months after the Creators Update did.

Here's the full changelog:

Windows Update History Name Device Manager Name
Surface – Firmware – 18.08.20.1622

Surface Mobile Broadband Update Device – Firmware

  • 18.07.20.1622 improves LTE stability when using e-SIM.

What's interesting is that according to the changelog, this update only improved LTE stability, so it's unclear why it's being offered to both the Surface Pro with Advanced LTE and the Wi-Fi only model. But nevertheless, if you've got a Surface Pro, you should have an update waiting for you.

As usual, you can install the update by going to Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates, you can wait for your PC to install it automatically, or you can download the firmware and drivers bundle here and install that.
