T-Mobile announced today that it will be bringing 16 new content providers into its Binge On service.
Binge On was announced at the company's Uncarrier X event back in November. Launched with just 24 partners, it allows customers to stream endless amounts of video and audio content without it affecting their data buckets. As of today, Binge On has over 100 partners.
Here's what got added today:
ABC
Apple Music
Big Ten Network
CEEK VR
DISH Anywhere
Disney Channel
Disney Jr.
Disney XD
D-PAN.TV
DramaFever
FOX NOW
FXNOW
NAT GEO TV
Shalom World
Sioeye
Tubi TV
Binge On hasn't been without its critics. Back in January, the EFF accused the Uncarrier of violating Net Neutrality rules. Part of the problem was that T-Mobile was throttling all video traffic, rather than just partners'. In March, the company allowed for companies to opt-out of the service.
However, in T-Mobile's press release today, the firm noted that 100% of existing Binge On partners found that joining the service was "neutral or easy", with 79% saying it was easy or very easy. Content providers are enjoying the service as well, with 80% saying that customers watch longer, and 45% of partners that offer paid subscriptions expect to sell more because of the service.
