T-Mobile updates some of its protection plans to include AppleCare

T-Mobile has changed the mobile industry over the past few years with its various Un-carrier movements. While other carriers initially scoffed at its antics, the firm has stayed its course, eventually forcing the industry to follow suit. T-Mobile has once again upped the ante on its offerings with the inclusion of AppleCare on its Premium Device Protection and JUMP! with Premium Device Protection plans for the iPhone and iPad. The aforementioned plans are $12 a month but will now include the added benefits of AppleCare at no extra cost.

If unfamiliar, Apple offers its own brand of warranty for its device called AppleCare. Some of the benefits of the plan include:

  • 24/7 priority access to AppleCare’s award-winning technical support via chat or phone
  • Low service fees such as $29 for iPhone screen damage
  • $0 for battery service
  • Apple-certified repair or replacement at Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers
  • Software support for iOS, iCloud, and Apple-branded iOS apps
  • Hardware repairs and service backed by Apple

Although Apple will be able to cover the points above, T-Mobile will still be covering issues like if a device is lost or stolen, and any accidental damage that might occur.
