Acer has announced it will release a new version of its Windows 8 Aspire R7 laptop/all-in one that will have Windows 8.1 installed and include an Acer Active Pen and new Acer Touch Tools apps.

Acer will hold an online auction on eBay starting June 14 for people to bid on a limited edition Star Trek Aspire R7 Windows 8 PC for charity. Only 25 of these versions of the PC were made.
Acer claims that Microsoft has launched a program to help PC OEMs make higher end Windows 8 PC hardware products, including the recently revealed Aspire R7 laptop/all-in-one hybrid PC.
Acer has now officially revealed the Aspire R7 Windows 8 PC, a laptop with a special hinge that can turn the product into an all-in-one PC. It will be released May 14th as a Best Buy exclusive.
