By 2030, Google has pledged to shift all its data centers and offices to renewable sources of energy under a plan dubbed "Stretch Goal". It will ditch oil and gas-based power completely.
In terms of sustainability initiatives, the new steps announced at Inspire 2020 today are specifically aimed at accelerating progress towards Microsoft's goal of being carbon negative by 2030.
