Google has provided a timeline on how it plans to phase out Chrome Apps across all platforms over the next couple of years. The initial announcement of phasing out Chrome Apps was made in 2016.
Google announced today that it will be killing off its Chrome apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The change will take place over the course of the next two years. Chrome OS will not be affected.
Google is reportedly working on getting "Chrome Apps" support in Android and iOS versions of their browser, according to the findings published by TheNextWeb, and is expected to begin testing soon.
