During a recent private event, Google reportedly showed off a special version of its Chromium OS that was running, via a virtual machine, on one of its Android-based Pixel 8 smartphones.

Google's new Chrome OS Flex is out of early testing and is now generally available. Chrome OS Flex basically brings a lot of the benefits of Chrome OS to Windows and Mac, barring a few caveats.
