A major flaw in Azure Cosmos DB has exposed customer data and given admin access to it for the past couple of years. Microsoft has now patched the issue and asked customers to rotate their keys.
With regards to Azure analytics, new features to report at Microsoft's Build 2020 conference include an HTAP implementation dubbed Synapse Link for Cosmos DB, along with general Synapse improvements.
As far as enhancements to its cloud database offerings are concerned, Microsoft has introduced new PostgreSQL and MySQL features, along with further capabilities for Cosmos DB as well.
Microsoft has unveiled new capabilities and service tiers in the Azure database space, including Hyperscale for PostgreSQL, APIs for Apache Spark and etcd, and online migrations for Oracle databases.
At the day one keynote of Microsoft's Ignite 2018 conference today, the company announced SQL Server 2019, which is available in public preview right now and will be out next year.
