Microsoft has announced some new features in public preview for Archive Storage. These include priority retrieval for faster online data access and CopyBlob enhancements, among others.
The new managed disks service has reached GA in some U.S., European, and Asian regions. It becomes the fourth persistent disk offering in Azure, and was first unveiled at Ignite last year.
Azure's latest storage redundancy type, Geo Zone Redundant Storage, is now available in preview. Currently only in some U.S. and European regions, availability for GZRS will be expanded soon.
Microsoft has announced new pricing for its Azure Archive Storage service, dropping costs by up to 50% in some regions. With this, it is hoping to provide the most cost-effective storage offerings.
