A new report claims Warner Bros Discovery has decided not to merge its HBO Max and Discovery+ streaming services, due to concerns about customers leaving the services because of higher prices.
HBO Max and Discovery+ streaming services are merging. A unified service offering content from both platforms should arrive next year. The new service will have ad-free and ad-lite subscriptions.
Warner Bros. Discovery, which recently got merged with AT&T-owned WarnerMedia, is now merging its streaming platform Discovery Plus with HBO Max as well, as announced by CFO Funnar Wiedenfels.
AT&T and Discovery have announced that WarnerMedia is merging with the latter company to create a unified portfolio of content and and stronger presence in the video streaming market.
Discovery is jumping on the streaming bandwagon with its own service, called discovery+. The service is said to be coming in January, costing $4.99 per month with ads, or $6.99 without them.
