ICANN has rejected the sale of PIR which runs .ORG to Ethos Capital. It comes after months of campaigning by non-profits who said the sale could lead to their financial exploitation.

The EFF and several other entities have penned a letter to ISOC to cancel to the sale of PIR, which controls .ORG domains, to Ethos Capital. They believe it would negatively affect NGOs.
