Owners of the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy J5 (2016) are still waiting for Android 7.0 Nougat to arrive - but in the meantime, Samsung is keeping their devices safe with the latest Android security updates.

After beginning its Android 7.0 rollout for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge last week, Samsung has now formally announced details of its Nougat upgrade plans for other devices in its range.
Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy A8, its thinnest ever smartphone at just 5.9mm thick. The new model isn't quite so slim, but it retains the full-metal body of its predecessor.
After releasing the Marshmallow update for its Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 in recent weeks, Samsung has now begun rolling out Android 6.0.1 to the Galaxy A8, starting in India.
Samsung's new Galaxy A8 is just 5.9mm thick, but it still has plenty to offer, including a 5.7-inch Full HD display, octa-core processor, 16MP camera, NFC, microSD slot and metal bodywork.
