Amazon Web Services (AWS) is reportedly in talks with the Italian government to build a new data centre or expand its Milan site. The investment is expected to be in the billions of euros.

Amazon has massively reduced its software development job openings following the laying off of around 18,000 employees. There are still a few hundred openings but this is down around 99%.
Amazon is opening 10,000 new permanent roles in the UK, bringing its total workforce in the country to 55,000 by the end of 2021. It's also investing £10 million in skills training for employees.
To compensate for the increased demand, Amazon has announced 100,000 new job openings. The firm will also be investing a total of $350 million with an added $2/hr through April for its employees.
